ABOUT THE PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICE OF IUEH

The Psychological Service of IUEH provides conditions for studying the psychological development of a student, the motives of his behavior and activity, taking into account age, intellectual, sexual and other individual characteristics, directs to self-development and self-education, and contributes to the fulfillment of educational and educational tasks of a higher educational institution.

MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THE PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICE:

  • psycho-prophylactic work among students and teachers;
  • psychodiagnostic work among students;
  • psychocorrectional work among students;
  • advisory work of students, their parents and teachers;
  • educational work to explain current problems and methods of psychology.

PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICE INCLUDES FOUR MAIN AREAS:

  • Direction of psychological assistance (psychological counseling and psychocorrection). The main goal is to provide psychological assistance to teachers and students – psychological assistance is provided for personal problems, for example, resolving family conflicts, establishing interpersonal relationships, etc.
  • Training direction. The main goal is to conduct business games, specialized trainings of both general (trainings in self-regulation skills, communication, conflict resolution trainings, etc.) and special orientation (trainings in negotiation skills, consulting work, body-oriented trainings, psychodramatic skills trainings, etc.). Special orientation trainings are aimed at developing professionally significant skills and abilities.
  • Direction of psychological education. The main goal is to conduct ongoing educational work on psychology to improve the psychological culture of students and teachers. The ability to organize ongoing seminars with the invitation of leading psychologists of the city of Rivne and the region, practicing psychotherapists.
  • Research direction. The main goal is to carry out constant research work in various areas of applied psychology, primarily, topical problems of education and upbringing. The function of psychodiagnostics of applicants and students is being established. This area is equipped with modern technical, psychodiagnostic and computer equipment, which allows conducting research and examination and processing and formalizing the results obtained at the proper level.

EMPLOYEES OF THE PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICE HAVE TO:

  • be guided by the Psychologist’s Code of Ethics;
  • adhere to pedagogical ethics, respect human dignity, and protect them from any forms of physical or mental violence;
  • build their activities on the basis of goodwill and trust in close cooperation with all participants in the pedagogical process;
  • promote a healthy lifestyle, increase the level of psychological knowledge of pedagogical workers and parents;
  • maintain professional secrecy, do not disseminate information obtained in the process of diagnostics, counseling or correctional work if this may harm the student or his/her environment;
  • constantly improve their professional level, prevent cases of psychodiagnostic, developmental and correctional, consultative and methodological work being performed by persons who do not have the appropriate professional training or the right to such activities;
  • know program and methodological materials and documents regarding the scope, level of knowledge, development of children, requirements of state standards for ensuring the educational process, main directions and prospects for the development of education, psychological and pedagogical science.
