In September 2022, the student intercultural project club ‘Opening the Borders’ was launched at the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology of the IUEH as a form of educational work.
The club is a voluntary form of extracurricular work for students, which involves the development of their foreign language communicative competence, broadening their horizons, and exchanging cultural experiences.

Bachelor’s and master’s students from all faculties and specialties of the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economics and Humanities participate in the club’s events and projects. During the period of the club’s activity, international cooperation was implemented with students from educational institutions in Turkey, Japan, Korea, Poland, Israel, Colombia, USA, Germany, India.


INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS WITHIN OPENING THE BORDERS

A project with students of the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University (Istanbul, Turkey).

  • Online discussion on the topic of “Travel”
  • Online discussion on the topic “People who changed the world”
  • “Culture box” exchange of postcards with Turkish students.
  • An agreement between universities on cooperation and partnership has been signed.

 

Project with students of Cukurova University (Adana, Turkey)

  • Online discussion on the topic “National wedding traditions, customs and superstitions.”
  • Online discussion about the possibilities and shortcomings of artificial intelligence, its areas of application, impact on human activity, etc.
  • Virtual exchangeon the topic “Historical monuments and landmarks of Ukraine and Turkey.”
  • Online discussion on the topic “Traditional food and national holidays»
  • Virtual exchange between students of MEGU, Çukurova University (Turkey) and Silesian University of Technology (Poland) on the topic “Films”.
  • Video meeting on the topic “One Day Without the Internet”, where participants prepared presentations on how realistic it was to cope with such a challenge.

Project with students of Women’s University (Kobe, Japan)

  • Video chat on the social platform Flipgrid on the topics: “School Memories”, “Plans for the Future”, “Future Profession”, “Travel”, “Best Tourist Places in Ukraine/Japan”.
  • Letter of support to MEGU students from Kobe Women’s University, Japan.
  • “Culture box” gift exchange with Japanese students.

  • Video conference on the topic “Cartoons”.

  • Video meeting of club members on the topic “Features of national cinema in Korea and Ukraine.”

  • “Culture box” is an exchange of cultural boxes between students.
